Face the outside of the door to determine the hand. Here are some rules to follow:

The outside of an exterior door is the street or entrance side.
The outside of a room door is the hall side.
The outside of a single communicating door is the side from which the hinges are not visible when the door is closed.
The outside of a closet door is the room or hall side.

Doors equipped with exit devices swing out only, and therefore exit device handing is known as reverse bevel.

The door is Left Hand Reversed if:

• While you are standing outside of the room facing the door, the hinges are on your left side.

The door is Right Hand Reversed if:

• While you are standing outside of the room facing the door, the hinges are on your right side.

The EL feature allows for the remote unlatching of exit devices. A control station operator can flip a switch to retract the latch bolt and immediately change an exit door to push-pull operation.
EL devices are also useful with automatic door operators, and may be applied to fire-rated applications when under the control of an automatic fire alarm system.
The EL option does not include the power transfer from door to frame, the power supply, or the control operator. Refer to EPT-2 power transfer and the PS914-2RS power supply.

Dogging an exit device will put the device in the passage mode. This feature lets an override of the exit device or crash bar for the door to remain unlocked - functioning as regular locking doors. Dogging features are very useful when it is not convenient for a specific door locked from the outside to stay locked.
Cylinder dogging on panic exit devices will replace the standard hex key dogging.
Unit requires a standard 1-1/4" mortise cylinder with a straight cam, not included.
Not available for Fire Rated devices.
